Sartori
Denise Sartori, was born in Curitiba and, after finishing her degree in biology, began her singing studies with teacher Leila Farah in São Paulo. She graduated at the Escola de Música e Belas Artes do Paraná , giving continuity to her studies in England. She received a scholarship from VITAE and CAPES/Brazil. She concluded the course of post-graduation and Master in Music at Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester with distinction, under orientation of the well- known English baritone Neil Howlett.
Denise won several competitions, among them: Young Soloist, of the Symphonic Orchestra of São Paulo State, International Tournament of Singers (in which the winner is sent represent Brazil in Beijin, China), Pavarotti Competition, being the only Brazilian to participate in 1992 of the Gala Concert, in Philadelphia Opera Theatre, and Alice and Bert Shawcross, in Manchester, England. She received the Ricordi Opera Price for her performance in Benjamin Britten's opera, Phaedra.
Among concerts of camera music, symphonic and oratories which she performed are Messiah by Handel, Stabat Mater by Dvorak, Stabat Mater by Pergolesi, Magnificat by C.P.E. Bach, Requiem, Coronation Mass and Vespere Solennes Confessore by Mozart, Mass en Tempore Belle by Haydn, Ninth Symphony by Beethoven, John Passion by J.S. Bach., Requiem by Verdi, Cessate, Omai Cessate and Stabat Mater by Vivaldi, Petit Masse Solemnelle by Rossini, Third Symphony by Mahler, El Amor Brujo and El Sombrero of Three Picks by Manuel of Falla. Included among the opera roles which she performed are Rosina (The Barber from Seville), Carmen (Carmen), Amneris (Aida), Magdalena (Rigolleto), Marthe (Fausto), Third Lady (The Magic Flute), Lúcia (Cavalleria Rusticana), Begs and Reporter (The Reflector), and Phaedra (Phaedra).
Among her last performances stands out a participation in the historical concert in commemoration to the 100 years of foundation of Royal Northern College of Music. She participated for two years of the traditional concert " The Last Night of the Proms " in Manchester. Chosen for " Principals Concert ", promoted by the composer and Principal of RNCM, Sir John Manduell. She sang at the Royal Theatre in London, in "Covent Garden Festival", under the soprano Gweeneth Jones' orientation.
She performed in Quito, Ecuador, The Santa Cecília Mass by the Brazilian composer Padre José Maurício Nunes Garcia. She participated the recording of the CD of Magnificat - Aleluia by Villa-Lobos with the Orchestra and Chorale of the Pro-Musica of Rio de Janeiro, and with this same orchestra she recorded in its first world audition the Missa Mater Dolorum, by the maestro and composer Armando Prazeres.
She also recorded in CD 6 unpublished songs by Henrique Morozovicz, and recorded opera arias with the PUC-RS Orchestra and Chorale.
Recently, with the Orchestra of the Radio Cultura in São Paulo she sang for the first time unpublished pieces by Alberto Nepomuceno.
Parallel to her singer career, Denise is also devoted to the teaching of singing, anatomy and vocal physiology. She acts in several music festivals and master classes in Brazil and abroad.
