Watson Clis
He started studying violoncello in his hometown, Belo Horizonte, in Brazil, at
age of twelve, by J.L. Musa Pompeu, and moved to Rio de janeiro in 1964, when
he became pupil of Ibere Gomes Grosso, a Brasilian major cellist and musician.
In 1971 he made course of interpretation by Pierre Fournier, in Buenos Aires,
Argentina, and 1972 at the Academia Santa Cecília of Rom by Amedeo Baldovino.
Later, in Brazil, Watson clis became professor of the Universidade federal de Minas Gerais, of the UNI-RIO, and Universidade of São Paulo.
Beside his activities as member of the Trio Brasileiro he plays as solist and concertist with the major orchestras in Brazil. Actually he is « spalla » of the Orquestra Municipal de São Paulo.
